Fashion designer Monisha Jaising showcased the ‘World Bride’ collection at Delhi Couture Week, 2014. The line is called ‘World Bride’ because it is created for a traveling bride who could be taking her vows anywhere in the world; be it at a Brahma temple of Rajasthan, a church in Vienna or a mosque in Beirut, or perhaps she could conclude the celebration on a yacht, docked at the regatta on the bay of Saint Tropez, wearing fuss-free, easy and edgy clothing and still feels like a princess in the most luxurious and exquisite creation.
The ‘World Bride’ portrays an array of fresh, contemporary, sexy designs, which today’s modern bride can relate to. Monisha designs for a bride who is not bound by the usual norms of the wedding customs.
The traveling bride gets a comprehensive range starting from concept saris and fitted gowns to the striking cropped kurti.
The ensembles cater predominantly to the Indian market, focusing on the nuances of the modern Indian women. The vivid drapes and cuts are designed particularly to accentuate any body type.
The ‘World Bride’ collection epitomises sheer grace and elegance, and gives an edge to the sophisticated modern bride.
