Amit Aggarwal left the audience spellbound with his cutting edge designs at the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014. Sushmita Sen walked for him as the showstopper; she looked remarkable in a black outfit that had eccentricities of mesh-meets-peplum-meets-metallics.
“I feel very sexy wearing this and that’s what Amit’s collection is all about. When I first saw his collection, I asked him, which is the showstopper outfit because all his outfits looked marvelous. I am so proud of him,” says Sushmita.
Amit’s collection had tribal influences weaved in modern techniques; stripped tattoos and structured jewellery, redefined the core spirit of androgyny. The outfits were traditional in a contemporary way.
Futuristic and experimental, his designs had subtle hints of femininity. “The whole idea revolves around a woman who lives life on her own terms and that’s where Sushmita fits in like a glove,” smiles Amit.
