This festive season don the classic winged eyes and bold lips to be the ‘it’ girl! This Marilyn Monroe look never goes out of fashion. Be it for bridal looks, Diwali parties, cocktails or just brunch with the girls—a swept out liner with pop-hued lips is always a game-changer. Read on to know step-by-step guide to nail this beauty trend right.
While doing makeup, the most important thing is to know your skin type; make sure to have the right kind moisturizer to start with. Post moisturizing, use a primer to even out the skin texture; this also leaves a nice, radiant glow on the face. Put on some lip conditioner to prep for lip makeup; now apply foundation on your face and neck, and blend well (P.S- always remember to match the colour of your face and neck). Use concealer now (P.S- concealer covers discolouration of skin and is always heavier in consistency than foundation). After this, apply loose powder to seal the base. If you wish to contour your face, this is when you do it. Start with a darker foundation or bronzing powder in matte finish. Brush it off on your cheek bone, below your jaw line, under the chin, hairline and sides of the nose. Put on some blush on the apple of the cheeks and blend along with your contouring.
Now that your base is ready, start with your eye makeup; rub on some cream-based colour on the lids—it makes it easier to apply eye-shadow later. Powder it up now to even out skin tone. Curl your lashes and outline your crease with a dark colour; lightly brush off lower lids with the same shade. Apply a thin layer of black eye-liner close to your upper lash line and use the tip of the brush to draw a flick for the winged effect. As you go outward, your line should get thicker. Put on some gold eye shadow on the center of the lid and smear oodles of mascara. Define your brows well and fill in gaps accordingly.
For lip makeup, begin by outlining your lips with a dark colour and eventually fill up your lips. Put on lipstick or gloss on top of it.
