I love moisturizing my skin all throughout the year. However, winter months are special, because I love making homemade moisturizers during this time of the year. Today I am going to share one of my favourite winter moisturizers that is not only super easy to make but is very beneficial for the skin too—I like to call it my ‘skin food’ for frosty months.

Ingredients required:

  • Cocoa butter (1 teaspoon)
  • Aloe Vera gel (1 cup)
  • Almond oil (1 cup)
  • Vitamin E oil (1 teaspoon)
  • Few drops of essential oil (I use lavender or rose)

Take a heavy-base pan and place it over low flame; add cocoa butter to it and let it melt. Add almond oil, vitamin E oil and your choice of essential oil to it and blend well. Once the oils start melting remove it from the gas and allow it to cool down. Once they cool down to room temperature, add Aloe Vera gel and blend it well using a blender—make sure the consistency of the concoction is soft and smooth, and takes the form of a lotion. Pour it into a glass jar and put it in your refrigerator to get better conservancy. This moisturizer will leave your skin buttery soft and supple. I use it post morning shower and I am all set for the rest of the day.

These ingredients are a delightful source of antioxidants, which also removes free radicals from the skin and body. Happy moisturizing everyone!
