My skin becomes extremely wired during winter months. I generally have oily skin issues but during frosty times, I often get flaky skin; and I hate the feeling. This is where homemade, organic body scrubs come to play an important part in my daily beauty routine. I don’t like letting the cold weather affect how my body feels. Today I will share some simple homemade body scrub recipe that nourishes my skin intensely during winter months.
Salt Scrub: To make this scrub, you need some coarse sea salt of Epsom salt (I use Epsom because it is a good source of magnesium, which I lack), a carrier liquid (coconut oil, glycerin or honey), and an essential oil of your choice. You are free to experiment with your choices, but I mostly use honey and lavender oil. Blend everything together and scrub well in circular motions all over your body; shower in warm water and I promise, you will feel revitalized!
Citrus Scrub: For this scrub, you need a cup of olive oil, two tablespoons of sea salt, one tablespoon of lemon zest and few drops of lemon grass oil. Blend all the ingredients well and pour in into a jar. Exfoliate your body before taking a hot bath. This is one of my most favourite beauty concoctions.
Sugar Scrub: You need two tablespoons of sea salt, two tablespoons of brown sugar, and half a cup of olive oil and few drops of essential oil of your choice. I recently tried using vanilla and I loved it. Blend everything well and rub over moist skin. Apart from exfoliating, this also acts as a great moisturizer!
