Rose water is a common face toner used by millions across the globe. However, there is much more to roses that can be explored in the realm of beauty and skincare world. Rose petals are known for being effective skin-treating ingredient; they have abundance of antioxidants that help in unleashing clear, glowing skin. Even oil extracted from rose petals can be used in various ways to get many beauty benefits. Also, rose petals are rich in anti-bacterial properties, Vitamin K, C and B. Here are two of my favourite face masks made with rose petals.
Magic of rose and orange: Winter is here, so I am assuming all of you are eating plenty of oranges. Now before you throw away those stacks of orange peels, remember how it can render gorgeous skin! So retain those and sun-dry them for a day or two. Throw them in a grinder and prepare orange peel powder. Similarly, sun-dry a handful of red or pink Rose petals and grind them into powder. Mix the two ingredients in equal quantities, add some rose water to it, a dash of yoghurt and blend well into a thick paste. Apply this on your face and neck evenly; let it dry out. Wash it with mild water and voila!
Goodness of rose and sandalwood: Mix two tablespoons of sandalwood powder with two teaspoons of full-cream milk, and equal amount of rose petal extract. Mix well and apply all over your face. This face pack gave me bright and supple skin in just 30 minutes. Additionally, you could also add rose-petal paste to this face mask for added softness. After washing it off, dab your face gently and apply some baby lotion to seal the pores of your skin.
