Located in the heart of Gurgaon – Sector 29, Factory by Sutra is a new-age microbrewery and pub that casts a factory-like feeling the moment you set foot into the periphery of the restaurant. I went there for lunch on a Sunday afternoon with a friend, and I was extremely happy with the hospitality.
This is one of the rare resto-pubs in Gurgaon that is non-cluttered and spacious. I loved how large comfy sofas, functional tables and a dedicated co-working space existed in symbiosis – perfectly complementing each other. The touch-and-feel of the place was rustic yet supremely contemporary. Pop culture posters framed in synchronization, sofas with jute sack upholstery, uncolored brick walls, basic wooden tables and sudden breakage of candy colours makes this place so much alive.
The menu has an interesting mix of desi and world-cuisine dishes. We began with Delhi 6 gol gappas that came stuffed with bhelpuri, aloo tikki and chutney. Following this super tangy and spicy street food, came over a bowl of crunchy, deep-fried Kurkuri bhindi along with a serving of fresh mint chutney. It was delectable.
From the tandoors, we chose to savor upon some Dahi kebabs – soft, agile and filled with smooth yoghurt filling. Then came over a portion of Ajwani fish tikka and Laal maas pav. The later was my favorite pick from the entire menu. It was spicy, hot and titillating.
Now, for the main course we had a serving of Lemon garlic fish – zesty with abundance of garlic, this grilled fish drizzled with creamy lemon sauce. As I took my first bite, it truly melted in my mouth, and I couldn’t stop eating. Lastly, we had a serving of non-vegetarian dumpling platter that comprised of – assortments of chicken dumplings, tandoori dumplings, and Szechuan cilantro dumplings.
I left on a happy note, and I have been taking friends and family to this place ever since my first visit. If you still haven’t visited this place, plan now!
